My mission is to make organizations better stewards of their future and the future of our planet. My passion is building analytical products that forecast human behavior at scale.

I am an associate vice president of data science at CVS Health. My team and I build applications that empower business users to do their work faster and smarter. We help underwriters run what-if scenarios about the impact of population risk on P&L statements. We provide drug utilization forecasts to the enterprise. We automate the comparison of forecasts to actuals to continuously improve the accuracy of our models. And we ensure that finance systems interpret different data the same way through a centralized rules engine.

I am also the co-founder (and now advisor) of Simpact, a software start-up to transform how non-profits and foundations plan and evaluate social impact. Simpact is in part funded by a National Science Foundation grant I won as a Principal Investigator for advanced computational methods for forecasting economic and social returns.

I like to work on problems from a system dynamics perspective that helps decision-makers strategize. As a trained complexity scientist, I tend to focus on the interdependence between processes as the key to solving problems, usually expecting non-linear outcomes.

I gravitate towards work that industrializes data science to make it usable by non-data scientists.

I grew up in Skopje, Macedonia. I am currently living in Boston, MA. When I am not thinking about forecasting human behavior I am pretending to help my wife garden, and rolling around on the floor with my kids.

I have degrees in Computer Science and International Relations. I have always been drawn to analyzing human behavior using quantitative methods. I started my career at Icosystem, a technology consulting company, as a data scientist and quickly turned to managing analytics. I helped start Concentric, a software company that provides a what-if platform for strategic decisions. At Concentric, I was first the CTO and then the Chief Product Officer. Throughout these experiences, I shaped different sets of expertise:

  • Innovation of analytics software products based on machine learning, AI, and diverse sets of data

  • Team building and leadership, emphasizing open feedback, collaboration, and continuous learning

  • Customer discovery and validation through constant interaction with customers, users, and market leaders

  • Translation of complex analytics ideas and findings for business decision-makers

  • Management of product owners, data scientists, software developers, data engineers, and UI/UX designers

  • Socialization and sell-in among executives for high-visibility, end-to-end analytics
